In the next installment of our "Getting to Know" feature, we caught up with Clara DeLeon who is based in our North American Center of Excellence in Cleburne, Texas. Learn more about Clara below.
Over to you Clara!
Based at our North American Center of Excellence in Cleburne, Texas, I am the Parts Administrator for CDE. I hold a wide range of responsibilities, including receiving inventory and labeling, counting and storing, picking and prepping customer orders for shipping, stock take, and daily housekeeping. With over $3m worth of parts in stock, my day never gets boring!
I work with the CDE CustomCare team based in North America and the wider team at CDE HQ in Northern Ireland. I assist the team by providing quotes, estimated lead times, status updates and processing of customer orders. In terms of logistics, I also schedule LTL (less-than-truckload) shipments and small parcel shipping.
Building Meaningful Relationships
Working closely with customers is what I love most about my job, interacting with them daily and building meaningful relationships. I get a great sense of satisfaction from helping our customers keep their plants running efficiently and keep belts turning. With the thorough training I received from CDE I can pick up the phone or visit our customers out on site to give them guidance and support on their individual needs.
CDE CustomCare is focused on developing a partnership with our customers, a partnership that begins when our engineers co-create a custom solution, and it doesn’t stop there. This relationship continues beyond the installation and commissioning phase, by delivering a service that is customized to our customers’ specific needs and wants.
What Attracted You To CDE?
When I was looking for a new challenge, I was first attracted to this role at CDE because of its major growth plans for the US and the team spirit that was evident from the minute I walked through the door. We’re a dedicated team committed to putting the customer first in everything we do.
From Fighter Jets To Wash Plants
Before I joined the CDE team, I previously handled fighter jets and transported aircraft parts as a Materials Manager, serving eight years in the U.S Air Force on active duty. Following this I spent three and a half years as a Unit Deployment Manager in the Texas National Guard.
I am proud to have served my country and my experience with the force was invaluable in preparing me for my new role. Teamwork, meticulous planning, and delivery are core to being in the force. That background training ensures I’m always ready to help answer customer requests quickly and has helped me fit into the fast-paced, dynamic work environment at CDE. Our team has many fellow veterans and working with like-minded people was a big plus for me!
Outside of work, I’m a big American Football fan – Go Dallas Cowboys! One goal of mine is to visit every football stadium in the country. Sadly, I only managed to get to one away game this year. More recently, I have set myself a new challenge to train for a 10k – wish me luck!
