New CDE sand wash plant set to treble capacity for father-son enterprise
Plant engineered for Terara Shoalhaven Sand to transform South Coast family business
Family-owned and operated business Terara Shoalhaven Sand has announced plans to invest in a new sand washing plant designed and engineered by wet processing experts CDE to help enhance product quality and vastly improve production capacity.
Over the past 30 years, Terara Shoalhaven Sand has grown to become a trusted supplier of washed river sand, top dressing and garden mix for the construction, sports and landscaping industries throughout the South Coast region of New South Wales.
Managed by father-son duo Stephen and Mitch McCormac, the family enterprise, established in 1988, will commission the new CDE plant at its production facility located along the Shoalhaven River in the Nowra city area.
The modern dredge-fed wash plant will replace a traditional sand trommel that has been running throughout the company’s history and has reached the end of its operational life.
Receiving sand and gravel slurry material direct from the dredging operation, the new CDE plant will allow the family business to more than treble throughput from 60 to 190 tonnes per hour to produce a range of washed dredged sands.
